So, so interesting. This piece appears to be the missing link in why melatonin supplementation improved immune outcomes in lung cancer patients, a study I first remember reading more than a decade ago. It also seems to have implications for any chronic lung condition, like COPD. I will definitely be looking more into 5-HTP and melatonin therapy as an adjunct therapy for my dad. What do you think-- reasonable train of thought?

Wow getting more and more fascinating, thank you.

I also admit quite a lot is “above my pay grade”.

Several questions popped into my mind around disturbed breathing patterns such as central sleep apnea, what happens when you supplement with 5-htp (did so after a stroke triggered anxiety) and more, many more…

According to statistics, about 20% of the populations are on SSRI in the US. How does this affect their breathing?

Do you still have the same opinion about buteyko and co2? Looked up your twitter post from a while ago on it as this post reminded me of it. I Remember being confused back then. You said that co2 drives the urge to breathe. But wouldn’t low alveolar co2 cause bronchonstriction increasing shortness of breath?
