What is the effect of high intake of seed oils (omega 6s) on the 1,25 (OH) D? I read somewhere that consuming too many omega-6 fatty acids interferes with the conversion of 25 (OH) D to 1,25 (OH)D. Will you please elaborate on this point if there is any truth to it?

If you can post a reference I’ll take a look at it. I wouldn’t be inspired if free fatty acids interfere with the nuclear receptor like they do with thyroid hormone. I do know they can interfere with vitamin D-binding protein in circulation. That’s more an interference with fasting, or overweight, or after a high fat meal, or other things that raise free fatty acids but it’s worse if you eat more PUFA.
